Tasty recipe. I recommend trying to use as little of the pasta water as possible. I also used mild Italian because I made it for someone who doesn't like eating spicy Italian. Overall really good. Would make again. However I think the spicy is probably the way to go of possible. And use as little of the pasta water as possible to avoid diluting the flavor.

Very tasty! Great comfort food with a baguette and red wine! I used mild Italian Sausage because I can't handle spicy food. I added a bunch of fresh basil. I left the peas whole. I used a bit of chicken stock and heavy cream in addition to the pasta water. I added garlic salt and pepper to help flavor up the ricotta cheese.

It was so easy and the whole family had seconds! It is spicy. Doesn't look pretty the next day as leftovers but tastes as good as the day before.

I was very skeptical of this recipe. My 14 year-old hates peas. But I love LOVE northern Italian cuisine so I gave this a shot. Verdict: I will make this again. The kids were silent when they took their first bite. My 11 year old said, "I don't like this....I LOVE this," Now to the 14 year old, who was silent. She turned to me and flashed a 'thumbs up."

It doesn't have a strong "pea flavor" per se.... it's like a green fresh garden taste. I used high quality fresh tagliatelle which I think made this dish awesome. I always keep a bag of frozen peas in my freezer as an emergency ice-pack but this recipe has given new life to the peas!

Make sure and save the pasta water to give the dish some moisture! Very, very good dish!

Sooooo good! I would recommend using all of the pasta water as the pasta gets a little "tight", also I used spicy Italian chicken sausage instead of pork, and may use just a few less peas next time. Outstanding! Can't wait for leftovers! Another Giada masterpiece.
