Although I like this butter with the smoked salmon in the recipe, I love love love this herb butter any ol' way. I make it all the time to go with fish, chicken, pork, and steak. Simply the best herb butter recipe you can find. Absolutely delish! Great just to slather on a hot French baguette, too. This butter WOWS people. I always double the recipe and keep a log in the freezer for a quick topping for pretty much any protein. Beautiful melting over grilled fish!

Great recipe. Had to hold myself back from eating just spoon fulls. Used French baggett that was lightly toast with a liberal helping of the butter and a thins slice of smoked salmon. WOW! Made 50ish for a party. Went up stairs to change and they were gone. Never using cream cheese again... unless Ina has the recipe for that too.

You cant go wrong with this. We bought fresh salmon, the butter was delicious (and can go with a lot of other things and I toasted the wheat bread. It was just so simple but soo delicious. Tasted like something you would get at a gourmet restaurant! You can also add a few things to change it from an appetizer to a sandwhich. Overall, wonderful, just like everything Ina makes!

Makes you look like a chef. Easy and taste is perfect. I make extra salmon and use for a salid. Salmon is great in a salid cold the next day. I layer tomato, cucumber, dash of salt on the cucumbers, salmon, thin onion slices. and lettace. on a flat plate. Dot layers with a tiny bit of dressing(recipe follows Cover with plastic wrap. Let sit all day in the fridge. The flavors marry as the cucumbers "draw a bit" For dressing, I mix 4 oz low fat or no fat plain or vanilla ( vanilla, works better believe it or not yogurt, appx. 1 T chopped fresh dill, and 1-2 T mayo with a dash of salt and pepper. Mix .add more dill or salt, or pepper to taste. . No one will ever guess it is any way related to a diet. Perfect on those hot days as a supper.

I made this recipe for a large party I hosted for the holidays. The herb butter is very good and can be used on more than just this recipe. The left over butter is great as a base for scrambled eggs.

This reminds us of our favorite appetizer at our favorite restaurant in Kansas City! We use Pita chips and thin sliced smoked salmon from the meat dept in the grocery store. Also good with capers on top!
