very easy to do, one word of warning, i would cover nearby surfaces with paper towels when you are cutting the kernels off the corn, lots of splash damage. i didn't add the turmeric because he says in the episode its just for color and is optional. best cream corn i ever had!

Eating this dish, my company is not going to be here for another 30 minutes and I am afraid I won't have any left. :-

I don't know if it is the corn meal, the sugar, the hint of rosemary but it is sooo good.

First of all, it takes mere minutes to thow this together which is great. I cook it the day before my dinner and let all of the flavors marry in the fridge. I followed the suggestion to use frozen corn which worked out great. Didn't use the turmeric and replaced corn meal with Jiffy cornbread mix because it is way cheaper. I used my potato masher to mash the corn a little as it was cooking...it gave me that pulpy texture and the milk of the corn came out a bit. Then I sprinkled in parmasean cheese at the end...yum!

Like a few other people i too used frozen corn. No sugar or tumeric (cause sorry, but tumeric is NOT flavorless to me though. Thought this was the best invention ever. My brother loved it too (he's really picky. However i did run it through a blender for a few secs at the end to make it even more creamy. (My sis doesn't texture But other then that it was huge hit.

Tried this for the first time today and the results were incredible! Using the corn meal as a thickener was a stroke of genius, and the rosemary really accentuates the flavor of the corn. Great recipe!

We bought some smaller/not as filled out ears of corn - as we arrived to the Farmers Market late. This was a PERFECT use of them! Positively delicious recipe, and the only thing I added was a touch of jalapeno powder (from Penzey's and it deepens the flavour considerably. VERY GOOD!

I always hated creamed corn, but I realized that I had only tried it out of the can, much like cream of mushroom soup. Disgusting. Since I tried homemade mushroom soup, I loved it. So, I figured I should try the same thing with creamed corn. I watched the episode and decided this was perfect for me. I just tried it with some wonderful local farmer's market corn (Peaches & Cream Sweet Corn, no less.

I must say that it is awesome just exactly as the recipe is printed. I made no changes and likely will not deviate. I like experimenting, but why mess with perfection?

I saw the episode of Good Eats! where they made this. I am an absolute corn fanatic, so I looked up the recipe (because I can't write fast enough and made it. I am of the opinion that most things are improved with the addition of corn so I expected to like it, but Whooee! My husband bragged to a female co-worker about how good it was, and she asked for the recipe. Now, when they have family dinners, this is what she always brings! Personally, I found the rosemary to be a tad overpowering (although my better half disagrees, so I use a lot less, or don't leave it in long. They made cornbread with this corn on the same show. Some day I'd like to try it, but so far there's never any left!

I took out the rosemary and tumeric. I also used a 1/2 stick of butter and frozen corn, added a quarter of a chopped green and red bell pepper, put 2 tablespoons of sugar, and thinned it out to my liking with milk along with salt and peppering to taste. My whole family loved this at Christams dinner! This is the best base recipe I have found for creamed corn.

My boyfriend was the one who cooked this first and we could not have enough of it. We used frozen corn and it was just as great. We put less turmeric. We make more than the than the recipe calls for and it it always a hit! No leftovers!
