Delicious, fun recipe!! Made this today with my two teenaged children (aged 16 and 18. We had a blast working together, and enjoyed the process very much. I especially enjoyed that every element was from scratch, instead of being locked in to processed food. The directions were clear enough for us, but we are used to working in kitchens and working together. As a result, we avoided some obvious first timer mistakes, and the dog enjoyed the excess egg yolks added to her dinner! This is a great recipe for novices to practice techniques and to improve their dessert approaches.

I just started working in the kitchen and I made this dessert for a dinner party I was attending. It took me a really long time to make but it was worth it! Everyone said it was better than in a restaurant! Set aside half a day and enjoy the smiles on peoples faces as they enjoy your dessert!

Did not make. Just curious how the difficulty level rated easy with a 2 1/2 hour prep time!!

I made this for Thanksgiving. The cake was definitly a project to make. I have to tell you it was well worth the effort. I had great raves by young and old. I think next time i would prepare the cake and freeze it ahead and then go forward with the next step at a later date, it would make for an easier project.
