This is the best and most successful meatloaf I have ever made. I doubled the glaze the second time because my family wanted to use it as a condiment for the meatloaf. Also makes great sandwiches with the leftovers. This was a huge hit!! Thanks.

This is the only meatloaf recipe I use. My husband hates meatloaf but loves this and requests it. I do not use the bacon. I double the glaze, put half on the loaf before putting in the oven, and put the rest on when there are 15 minutes left on baking time.

This recipe is direct from the Cooks Illustrated Best Recipe Cookbook. It's delicious and easy. When I read through it, I knew I recognized it from the book...verbatim.

I personally am not a meatloaf fan but i Thought it turned out great! I didn't use thyme in it because I don't like the taste of it and it still turned out wonderful! Very moist. Great flavor not to many spices.

Dang. Really dissapointed. Everything smelled amazing, but it was just ok. My husband and I thought this lacked seasoning. I did everything to the T, except I used Chipolte tabasco instead of regular. I would bump up the salt and Worschtecher next time. More parsley? I don't know, it needed more kick.

Reason i only gave this recipe 4 stars is because of the thyme . I think by omitting thyme would taste a whole lot better . It's still an okay without with it , but i think without the thyme would have been so much better !!

I personally have never liked meatloaf, and I still don't. However, my family adores me even more when I make this for them. I use 100% beef and i double the glaze recipe with extra vinegar. Not to mention I form 2 loafs instead of one. Persoanlly I don't see how the thyme made a huge difference unless you measured it wrong. Just saying... It's also a great recipe to make ahead in the day wrap it up and leave it for a responsible family member to cook it for you. =

Best meatloaf ever! Do try this meatloaf with the buttermilk. Makes a great consistency. The bacon is really unnecessary but if you really need it try making it in a pan first and then topping it on the meat.

Made this meatloaf tonight with a few slight alterations. After reading previous reviews, I left out the thyme. Also, to accommodate my son, who is on a gluten free diet, I used minute rice as a substitute for the bread crumbs. I have been married for 24 years and my meatloaves have never been a crowd pleaser in my house. Tonight my husband said it was the best I had ever made. My son went out after dinner and when he came home, he wanted to know if there was any meatloaf left. There was none left! This has never happened before. This is my new meatloaf recipe!
