This was the first thing I ever learned to cook in my mom's kitchen. She called in pork chop casserole - but it is exactly the same. Brought back great memories. Thanks Pat and Gina - for sharing.

Finally made this recipe and it was fantastic. I seasoned my pork chops with a little garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and seasoning salt. My husband couldn't stop talking about it.. I will be putting this in the rotation.

I love the recipe I like to make it all winter long. A very unique flip to the tradional stew.I've had to change it from time to time but it's still a household favorite.
Pat and Gina thanks for sharing!

I decided to take a peek at this recipe after cooking this soup over 5 times from Neelys cookbook...I must say it was obviously reworked because cookbook recipe is slightly different. Leeks add a lot of flavor as well as chicken broth instead of veg broth. I suggest dicing potato and carrots pretty small, because they do not cook as fast as recipe states. I have alternated between grilled pork chops and also turkey chops, both work well. So for all you nay sayers, try the cookbook recipe, it is delicious!!!

Love the recipe great idea it was a change up from the everyday chicken noodle and other soups. The pork chops were good also fell off the bone i let it cook a little while longer on simmer . For the people who said it was bland remember recipes are only guides you can always add your own spices to your taste. Good job Pat and Gina I made this yesterday and will more today because its cold in Atlanta.............my wife loves it also

I think this is a great dinner, especially on a cold evening. I find the recipe easy to follow, tasty and delicious. If you don't think it's spicy enough then add some additional spices as you like (as I sometimes do, but it is great the way it is. We have had this for dinner several times and it has really been enjoyable. I don't have a deep fryer so I just pan fry it and flip it over (this has worked fine for me.

Wow...I was never so disappointed! I thought this was going to be great because the idea is great. It was bland to the point that I couldn't figure out what else to add. I even added a few drops of Tabasco. My honey couldn't even think how to spice it up. I fried the pork chops in a non stick pan (not deep fried as called for. If I ever try it again, I would dip it in egg also to keep the flour on. I cooked it for over an hour and the potato cubes still were not done. I'm still thinking about what else to do to make it work but I would not follow it as is ever again. Sorry Grandma!

I love this soup, I have made it 5 or 6 times now and have adapted it a little. I use whatever veggies I have on hand. I use chicken broth if thats all I have. I also use thick boneless chops and do not "deep fry" them but cook them in a skillet with 1/2 inch of oil and flip them. I cook the chops in the soup for AT LEAST an hour...the longer the better, the 30 min it says is not long enough. Because I cook the soup so much longer I add 2-4 cups of water to help cook the chops. This is so good! The chops just fall apart. We like it with the boneless chops better because then you don't have to fish bones out of your soup. My husband hates soup for dinner but he loves this!
