I have to say it came out more like a stew instead of soup and I had to add a few more spices to enhance the flavor but overall it was very good, I also made the Broccoli Cheddar Cornbread to serve with the soup and it was delicious.

Sorry to be negative, but I have three words to sum up the flavor of this recipe: BLAND, BLAND BLAND. The only tender part of the pork chop was the tenderloin. The rest hardly "fell off the bone" and was tough. And bland. Have I mentioned how bland the flavor of this soup is? Total waste of time.

Very tasty recipe! Reminded me of the soup my grandfather made for me when I was a child.
I agree with anchorwoman..its all about the food and recipes...if that's not what you came for..best move on....
Only problem I have is...my fiancee can't cook like Pat..:(

Great Recipe. However, I must say something to all the silly comments made about Pat and Gina Neely. If you don't like the show, don't watch and don't use the recipes. I mean really people, don't you think Pat and Gina are laughing to the bank while she is still doing the things you all say get on your nerves. Let's stay focused and talk about the recipes. Keep it positive and relevant.

My family and I had this meal on last night. My children and my fiance enjoyed it. My fiance said that it is a wonderful twist from just the regular fried or smothered pork chop.

Very tasty recipe. The soup was flavorful and easy to make. A nice twist to the usual fried pork chop. I prefer thinner pork chops to the really thick ones, because the soup is so hearty.

I love this soup! I make it even without the fried porkchop as
my regular vegetable soup. So flavorful. The broccoli cornbread
goes great with it- and with other soups, stews and short ribs and
roasts. I love the Neely's and this episode is my very favorite.
    Thank you Gina and Pat.

I have made this a fall/winter tradition. It is a terrific recipe. I have made it many times over the last year and adjusted very little. I also enjoyed the other recipes that were with this particular recipe such as the broccoli cornbread and the grilled pound cake with the rasberry culee. I have enjoyed many of your recipes, but this remains my favorite. Thanks, Pat and Gina
