these are the worst things ever. They taste like crap. They looked good and were easy to make but in the end.....it was crap in donut form. I bet my dogs would die if they ate these things. DO NOT MAKE THESE THINGS

I remember using the tube biscuts to make donuts only we rolled them in sugar and cinnamon when I was in the military. We were not allowed to cook in our dorm rooms so on weekends we would run extensiton cords and cook in the gazebo. Didn't have much room or the facilities (no kitchen to make labor intensive food itmes. Whitney, not every one has the room or the desire to make donuts from scratch. I have a glazed donut recipe from my grandmother and it would take almost all day to make those donuts. I only make them once in a while. So maybe this recipe isn't for you but I think it disgusting that you have to insult the other poeple who reviewed the recipe. If you don't like it or care for it for whatever reason that is your opinion, but if someone else likes the recipe then don't insult them. Kern, to help with your situation, I suggest an electric skillet. Whenever I to a deep fry method I have always used my electric skillet as it helps with controlling the temperature of the oil rather then on the stove top where you are raising and lowering in the heat.

I made these for my family on a Saturday and everyone raved. I wish I could have gauged my oil better, but the result was better than commercial bought because I could do them with my daughter (she made the holes and frosted the doughnuts I loved seeing the look on her face when she first bit in. Will do again and again

I don't know why these got such a high rating with other cooks. These "donuts" weren't donuts at all. Don't make these if you are expecting a donut. It is made with store-bought biscuits and that is just what they taste like. The chocolate sauce isn't very complimentary to them either. They were easy to make and I didn't have any complications. But the taste was not good. Texture was crispy and crunchy, but it tasted like a biscuit. I do not recommend these if you are looking for a real donut taste. Just go out and buy some.
