Oh, my, such decadence! These are wonderful and easy to make. I added a bit more cinnamon sugar mixture before I rolled up the dough and a little extra dark brown sugar when making the caramel, since there seemed to be more butter than necessary for the amount of brown sugar.

Though the topping is spot on taste wise, the ratio of dough to topping is too high. Simply too doughy. My suggestion is to make 12 buns out of the same dough, not 9, and to make 1 1/2 recipes of the caramel topping to make sure all 12 have plenty. I think then they would be perfect.

One of my guests remarked - "now this is a stick bun!". Perfect balance in texture and taste. I did use a stand mixer for kneeding and that made the process that much faster. I also added raisins and about a teaspoon of orange zest to the sugar/cinnamon mixture. All in all, this recipe produces exactly what you look for in a sticky bun.
