    This salad took a while to prepare but was well worth the effort. The combination of flavors was excellent. Please do make the fried red onions they are sweet when cooked like this and they add another layer of flavor.

    Note: you do not need to wet the onions so the flour will stick and they are fried in a pan with oil rather than deep fried.
