The prepreparation can be cumbersome. However, the final results are awesome. I cooked this turkey for the first time 2 years ago for my family. Normally, it is cooked by the family cook. Everyone was amazed and astonished how beautiful it turned out. I am cooking it again this year for Christmas dinner. I look forward to the same results. I recommend this receipe if you want to Wow your guest....

I didn't actually smoke the turkey, but it turned out great roasted in the overn. My family absolutely loved it.

i love A.B, Ive learned much through Good Eats. However, i was disapointed with my turkey. My family said it was "good", however it was just to be nice, becuase i had so much turkey leftover. For all the effort it took and the money I spent, I would do a simple brine, of water salt and sugar. I did like the fat that my Turkey cooked quickly. The breast was cooked in an 2.5 hours, however my dark meat was not. My bird was so pretty on te outside. However when i went to remove the leg, all the juice was pink still. I freaked out. Everyone was trying to help me. Anyway...love your stuff A.B this wasent workth the money.

Made this for a church barbeque. Was the best smoked turkey I have ever had. This is definitely going to be a tradition in our family. I cannot wait to make it again. This may even push the smoked ribs out of first place at our summer pool parties.

Recipe took about as long as if I had cooked it in an over, even though I couldn't attain 400 degrees in my cheap gas grill. I have been cooking turkeys for nearly 30 years, and I never had one come out so tasty, juicy, and popular at the table!

I made this last year and it was a big hit. I used the brine and put a bird on the bbq as well. Both turned out moist and very flavorful. I will serve it again this year.
