I was craving gumbo one day and decided to make this recipe with one minor change-- instead of sausage I used portugese sausage (a must have for Hawaiian food and i added some shrimp. Other than that, it was a great amount of spice and it hit the spot.

GREAT TASTE. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS RECEIPE IS THAT IT HAS NO PORTION OF CHICKEN, JUST REFERS TO IT IN DIRECTIONS!!! SO YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH TO USE. IT SERVES CLOSER TO 14 INSTEAD OF 4 AND TAKES 45 MINUTES TO AN HOUR TO PREPARE NOT 20 MINUTES.

sounds like a great and trsditional recipe but it doesn't say how much chicken to use.
