I made these, half a batch, and they were very good. I added orange zest to the chocoloate and it added a lot of flavor. I made 12 balls so they were smaller but still big enough to make me happy. Very, very tasty and good for you too.
(I'm considering trying them with prunes.
Update: I have made these many times and I now skip the chocolate part. I tend to have a sweet tooth so I eat these instead of candy.

If you stick to the recipe it won't taste good. The ginger is way too spicy and over powering. I added vanilla, more cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom, 2 tablespoons sugar and the zest of one orange. I also dipped them in milk chocolate instead of dark. The end result is 5 star. I'm honestly very surprised the recipe doesn't include orange zest, its a no- brainer combo for figs and ginger.

These were so quick and healthy. I chose Ghiradelli Chocolate with sea salt for dipping them, which made them even more delicious!

These truffles have everything I look for in a recipe: chocolate, ease of duplication and no guilt (well very little anyway, it's not broccoli after all. The flavor is taken from amazing to superb by the addition of orange zest (thank you regalreporting2and the texture is surprisingly truffle-like. Plus it saved my friends from another potluck goopy cassarole thing. Yea everybody wins!

Delicious! I doubled this recipe to make enough for a cocktail party on Saturday, and it turned out great. So easy to make, and delicious.

These were SO quick and easy to make!! And they're delicious too! I had to restrain myself from popping one after the other in my mouth once they were cooled. Will definitely make for a party in the future!

If you don't want the calories and crave a wonderful taste, try these delightful treats, the receipe with a bit of orange zest is soooo good. And no guilty concscious. I see someone tried the ginger root, this would be, way too strong, use the candied ginger. Ellie keep up the good work!

I just happened to have all the ingredients on hand at the time I was craving something decadently chocolate. Followed the recipe exactly and we loved them - and until now I didn't think I liked figs that much! They will very possibly become a substitute for the Panforte I have been making for the holidays as they are a fraction of the effort with the same level of satisfaction.
