I have my own very similar apple pork chop recipe that I've been making for years. When I saw Guy make these on the show, and decided to try it. The only things I did differently than Guy was to make the marinade about an hour ahead of adding anything else, so it has time to marry; and I carmelized the onions/apples/raisins mix using a little brown sugar for flavor. Very tender chops cooked this way!

This recipe is quite simple though does require some prep time (to mince the garlic, ginger, etc. but it is worth every second. I doubled the marinade because my chops were very large and also used extra onion and apple to ensure there was enough to go with the extra large chops. When cooking the chops I left the garlic and ginger on them in the oven. When cooking the onions, apples and raisins I added some of the juice left from the marinade. I almost skipped the raisins because I wasn't sure I'd like the texture, but they plumped up nicely and the flavours were excellent together.

I was mesmerized by Guy making these on TV. I knew EXACTLY what I was going to make when my fiance and I had a dinner party this weekend. They were full of favor and oh so juicy! FYI..I used a Riesling for the white wine for a little extra sweetness. The chops were a completely HIT!! My guest will definitely come back for those!!!

I was not sure about the recipe when reading it online, however I gave it a try and loved it. I took the advice to add more apples and it does give more to the dish. i also added a little more white wine so there was more sauce and to that a little more butter : Great weekday dish!

I usually love anything involving pork, apples and raisins, but this was a disappointment.
Thank goodness I didn't feed it to guests

This was an easy and tasty recipe. I substituted dried cranberries for raisins, but otherwise, followed it verbatim.
good, cheap and fast weeknight meal for the family.

Just tried this out tonight for the first time. While this is a perfect fall meal it really is great any time of year. I didn't include the ginger and it was still wonderful. Served it up with some sweet potatos. Did the sweet potatos with some brown sugar, made a great combo.
