This is my favorite pie! I have had fun too tricking people who would not normally eat tofu. It is the number one request when I offer to bring dessert!

Fantastic pie. Nice and creamy. We don't like coffee and the second time we were making it was to a work gathering so the liquor part was questionable. Made the pie a total of 4x. Instead of the coffee liquor did the following: double the vanilla (too strong, no change to vanilla (ok, 1.5x the vanilla (best vanilla flavor, vanilla + same amount of almond (awesome. Topped with either a dusting of chocolate wafer crumbles or toasted sliced almonds.

At the gathering the pies were a hit!

I made this with thoughts of tricking my children and boyfriend into eating tofu, but when it came down to dessert time no-one wanted dessert. :(

Crushed...I decided to take the pie to work and let my co-workers dig in. Boy did they! They liked it so much that they didn't even cut slices and were just digging in with forks. Then came the fun part. I told them to guess the secret ingredient in the pie and told them it was tofu and they didn't believe me.

I used regular brewed coffe in place of the liqouer and milk chocolate chips in place of semi-sweet. Will make again. Thanks Alton!

This is my favorite pie of all! My kids all loved it too! You try getting a 21 year old male to eat tofu! With this he'll ask for more. It is wonderful and easy to make. My sister who eats only wheat free/ gluten free liked it too - with appropriate cookies to make the crust.

The first time I made this it was almost an afterthought after being told that one of the guests coming to a party was lactose intolerant. It ended up being the first thing to go and I've made it many times since.
It's more of an "adult" dessert because it's not cloyingly sweet, and if you use good chocolate chips, the chocolate really shines trough. You may want to add sweetened topping if you prefer things on the sweeter side. I haven't had problems with the pie getting soggy or weepy, but it usually doesn't last too long around here.

I love making it when I have guests with different eating habits, because it can be made vegan by using agave nectar instead of honey, it's dairy-free, and it's suitable for those who keep kosher. Plus, it's just plain delicious.

Great dessert! I have a dairy allergy and it's really difficult to find non-dairy desserts that satisfy my desire for creamy chocolate confections. I used vegan dark chocolate and used substituted 1/4 c. of white rum for the liqueur. Also, I skipped the pie crude and made more of a mousse. The results were outstanding and I'm so thankful for this delicious, non-dairy alternative!

Outstanding. I'm not totally in love with tofu but am looking for ways to eat healthier and not miss out on goodys. This recipe fills the bill, but Alton's recipes always do.

I love Alton. I was a little skeptical at first, but this really turned out great. Wonderful for those on a diet. If you omit the alcohol and use dark, dark chocolate it's almost better than an orgasm. I used digestives instead of graham crackers, no alcohol (my bottle of baileys has wondered off, all the bits of cooking chocolate lying around and a little egg tofu added to the silken tofu. It turned out beautifully. Decadent and satiny. One thing though, and I'm surprised Alton didn't mention this, I added a 1/2tsp of fine salt to the chocolate as these two go together well. No one could believe it was tofu!!!
