I have found a SUPERB brisket recipe I will keep making for years to come. Here's to you Emeril: and thank you!
The ingredients really bring a wonderful taste upon the tongue and down to the tummy:.
I will always look up to Emeril...Emeril,my biological dad, great grandma, grandma's and Aunt Emily are my mentors for my cooking. So much so, I'm in school to become a Gourmet Chef and Caterer:.

I always cook to many veggies when I make this! For a great leftover supper, cut up all the veggies adding them to a well heated skillet, with about 4 Tbl butter. Heat them till slightly browned and heated thoroughly. Serve with warmed leftover meat!

My mother always told me how much time and effort it took to cook this dinner so I never tried it on my own with a busy work schedule. Now that I am retired I thought I would try it and found this recipe on line. Certainly not difficult and does not take all day as I was led to believe. One of my husbands favorites. I make this for him before I hit him with bad news. It makes things a lot easier.

I liked the extra veggies, parsnips and turnips.
The horseradish cream was good to, we just used hoseradish plain before.

I saw Emeril make this on tv several years ago and have been making it ever since, even if it isn't St. Pat's day. As I have been doing my own creative cooking for many years I have even played with the recipe a bit. In the absence of turnips or parsnips I have substituted rutabaga. I have also added rutabaga even if I did have the other two ingredients. I typically will also add some celery. I've always added some garlic and usually some paprika and parsley. In the final analysis, this recipe is already great all by itself but don't be afraid to experiment.
