Being from Texas, we eat A LOT of mexican food. The recipe sounded interesting, so I gave it a shot. I will NEVER make the recipe again. The flavor balance was all wrong and the sausage in the meat mixture just did not take right (or authentic. THe only reason I gave it two stars instead of one was because my husbanda yankee thought is was OK. I think he was trying to spare my feelings ; There are MUCH better mexican recipes out there....believe me!

This is an easy one that is sure to please the whole fam! Oh, by the way, the instructions to make the tomatoes, chiles, and onions is I think instructions to make pico de gallo, which can be shortcutted with a quick trip to a market!

More like Baked Burritos than Tacos but they were Fabulous very creamy melt in your mouth & the red gravy is great, but where in the recipe did you add the , in a separate bowl crushed tomatoes , chilies & onion ? I used it as a garnish when serving.

Tacoritos are to die for! We saw the
recipe on the Food Network and had to
try it. We preferred the lettuce on top rather than the middle, but it was
excellent! We also substituted lard for shortening. All we can say is,
try it, you'll love it!

I had to make a triple batch of the red chile gravy though with this one...But the flavors are there thru and thru! I also added a few chopped radishes to the mixture and less lettuce...That was just a personal prefence {do not like lettuce too much unless in a salad} and more cheese on top and inside of the tacoritos! My grown sons loved them and they were even better the next day!! You all have to try this recipe!
