I agree this recipe could be bland as is. I altered the recipe, after reading the reviews, by sauteing the onions and added peppers (any color, diced tomatoes (I used fresh, steak seasoning, dried parsley, and a lot more Italian seasoning. I increased the milk to make it creamier. I mixed about 1/2 the beef into the pasta and then put the rest on top. I also added chopped pickles on top to please my daughter, but I'd likely leave those out next time. Then I topped it with cheese and stuck it in the oven. Not bad!

I would've sauteed the peppers separately next time to get them softer. The flavor really is a little bland. Won't make it again.

The dish is Ok, but bland. Try adding a tablespoon of red wine vinegar to the beef and onions after draining the fat to "brighten" it up. Also try adding a quarter cup of Parmesan on top after baking.

Went against the reviews and tried it myself, adding the tater tots (which I'm going to assume without it would have been bad and it was ok, lacked flavor though. Most likely would cook it for kids in the future.

This dish was very easy to make, the kids thought it was ok.I probably won't make it again though b/c i had alot left over & no one wanted seconds. My children aren't usually picky eaters, but they didn't really like this.

It was a really easy recipe and I always have the ingredients around. The kids liked itr and it will be a good recipe to fall back on. The Italian seasoning gave it a little unexpected kick.

This is by far, more of a kid meal. But based on easiness, i will still give a 5. Super easy, makes alot. We used velvetta shells and cheese, worked well.

Well the three year old and the ten month old give it 5 stars, the two adults in the house give it 3 so a compromise of 4 stars is given to this recipe from our family. I used someone's suggestion with the tater-tots and that was actually the best part, with melted cheese all over them. I think it would be kinda boring otherwise.
