I tried this with fish and loved it. I did add yellow and orange pepper with the onion. I added parsley with the salt and pepper. I never made hashbrowns well, but this was easy and came out great. I was even able to cut it back for 2 without any problems.

Having surgery I was stuck home and could only find colby jack. Also having missed the first part of the recipe, I omitted the onions and nutmeg. It was awesome! Can't wait to try it with the correct ingredients!

Excellent! Sharp cheddar is the key. I also added crumbled bacon and green onions on top before serving.

The sharp cheddar made this dish! The zip from the cheese, savory onions and the spice from the nutmeg make this super-easy dish a flavorful keeper!

I am not really into meals that involve a lot of cheese, but when I saw this on tv, I just had to try it. It is delicious! I added crumbled bacon, and it topped with green onions. It tasted like potato skins without the sour cream. Very delicious!

It was so easy and the nutmeg added just the right kick to the potatoes! Loved them!

Here are the tip I have for this: use a big skillet so the potatoes are pretty much in an even layer over the bottom as this will help to crisp them up. I think this will help also to get a crispy edge on the cheese. Once you put the cheese in know that the mix gets sticky.

This recipe is so simple to prepare and with very few ingredients. It is delicious and goes with everything. I used extra sharp white cheddar and it was fabulous. Try it; you'll love it!

I've never used frozen hash browns before so I didn't know how easy they were to fix. Husband and son loved it. I used half of the cheese to cut the fat and I don't think we missed the other half! Don't skip the onions or the nutmeg since it does raise the flavor of the hash browns to more than just ordinary.
