To be honest, i normally don't like sweet potatoes. But I wanted to give this recipe a try for our thanksgiving dinner as a side dish. It was good, actually... I think i would like it better if i put in more nuts on it, perhaps layer it to add in some more flavor. Everyone else liked it and wants me to bring again next year. That is always a good thing!

So simple and delicious. I omitted the pecans and substituted Splenda for sugar due to guests' dietary restrictions, but otherwise followed the recipe's proportions. My mom actually hid the leftovers for herself. She and my husband are requesting encores.

I like sweet potatoes plain! My in-laws like the overly sweet marshmallow topping on their sweet potatoes. This dish was a hit on both sides of the family! I used a tablespoon of maple syrup instead of the brown sugar it called for and used walnuts instead of pecans, otherwise I followed the recipe. It was not overly sweet for me and it was sweet enough for my sweet tooth relatives. The spices and the nuts made it special! It will be a regular with our family from the reviews so far.

This recipe is a classic. Easy to prepare and tasty without being too sweet. I will continue to use this as my standard sweet potato holiday dish since there was not left-overs.

I like just baked sweet potatoes and others like candy sweet. This is something just in between and the taste was just right.
