This is fabulous. I cut and baked puff pastry instead of the dumplings and put a few pieces across everyones plate. They loved it.

the meal as a whole was very good! the only "bad" part of the whole thing was the fact that it took three people almost five hours to make. prep was easy, but my son ate almost two meals before it ever hit the table. he's my worst critic, but he licked his bowl clean! (college what can say? thanks

I make my own chicken in gravy recipe. These dumplings are fantastic. They don't fall apart in cooking and are light and cake-like. I used to use the Bisquick recipe for drop dumplings. Not anymore!
    Great job, Tyler!

Boy, did this bring back memories of my mothers kitchen. The smell that permiated the home was beyond words.
The preparation time was way off. It took me over 15 min just to debone the chichen. another 15 to cut the vegetables and another 15 to make the stock and another 15 min to make the supreme sauce and 10 min to make the dumplings. But boy was it worth it.

This was my first time every making chicken and dumplings. I was confused about the flour measurements for the supreme sauce. The broth became to thick toward the end of the cooking and I had to add more chicken stock. But overall, it had a nice taste and my husband loved it. I would definitely make again but use less flour and start earlier in the day.

Simply the best chicken and dumplings recipe ever! We've made this at least six times, and we are now pros at it. We usually make this a three day event.

I could eat this every day! Add some dried basil to the dumpling recipe if you think it's bland.
