This recipe is a classic as you learn cooking techniques - make your own stock and sauce as well as the best way to roast a chicken - along the way. It is worth every minute and effort that goes into it...a labor of love that pays off with satisfied dinner guests. My father in law who is a beef man, raved about the flavor and the fluffy dumplings. I am going to use the Supreme Sauce for my next batch of chicken Pot Pie.

The recipe appears labor intensive, but I have learned to make most of it up ahead and put it together at the last minute. The flavors are layered and smoooth. excellent flavor.

This was my first stab at making Chicken and Dumplings. I served them to my husband and brother-in-law, both who had grown up eating chicken and dumplings. My brother-in-law started singing "We will all have chicken and dumplings when she comes (from the song Coming Round the Mountain. Both said this receipe was a definite keeper and determined that it would be an excellent cold-weather food.

I cheated and did as some others have done, bought a pre-roasted turkey from the grocery store and used pre made chicken stock. Next time I'll make the whole thing, or at least the homemade stock, but even without this became very quick and easy and DELICIOUS!

I was also confused about the flour so settled on using 1/4 cup and it came out the perfect consistency. I have never been able to make dumplings right and these were awesome! Light, fluffy and perfect, FI loved it and wouldn't let me take the leftovers to share at work.

I use this recipe all the time, its so good its hard to believe that you do this yourself, I use that as a roast chicken, stock, soups & with dumplings, the only difference I make is I use can bisquits for dumplings.

This dish has the most wonderful rich flavored broth and the Dumplings are so full of flavor and as light as clouds...

Great recipe... the dumplings need more seasoning... try a bit more salt and some grated Parmasean.

I just buy a rotisserie chicken and chicken stock... cuts about 2 hours off the recipe start to finish time.

Never attempted chicken and dumplings until I watched tyler make it on food 911. Very easy. Time consuming but worth the effort. Would be an especially great recipe for a cold or rainy day:
