This wasn't quite as good as I expected it to be.

This is my all time favorite dish from Magnolias in Charleston! I've since moved to AZ from NC and the famous Shrimp & Grits aren't 3 hours away anymore so...As I'd prefer to order this dish due to the complexity and the difficulty of having tasso & stone ground grits FedEx'd.It was soooo worth it and just as I remembered.

I made this recipe for my family last night and it was okay. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I've had Shrimp and Grits that is so much better and am still looking for a really good recipe!

As a 31 year old southerner I have had many dishes of shrimp and grits that were wonderful. This recipe, however, was out of this world, melt in your mouth fantastic. It was a little difficult to prepare, as far as, timing. I do think it will be easier next time now that I have done it once.
