This was actually delicious. But to all of the Thai persons bombarding Rachel Ray with your insults, try thinking outside of the box. The great thing about food is that it can be adapted and evolve, which allows the possibility for fusions. If you're going to rate a recipe, base it upon taste. Not upon ideals. Nobody likes having to read through one-star recipe ratings that have nothing to do with the quality of the dish, but just rants about what the dish is called.
Great job, Rachel. We loved this dish, simply because it tasted great.

Tons of flavor from the curry paste, ginger and garlic. Really easy to make, you basically just throw everything into a pot and go. Highly recommended.

i made this after watching the show and it was my first time making curry. it was excellent... i just thawed out some frozen peeled and deveined shrimp and that made it very easy... this is probably my favorite recipe at the moment... ive made it twice in three weeks and plan on making a bunch more.

To the anonymous "Thai" person. Every Thai restaurant I have ever been to uses Basil in most recipes. The two Thai cook books I have call for Basil in several recipes. Perhaps Basil in Thai cooking is not authentic but in "American Thai" it is used frequently.

I was born in Thailand and I lived there for 24 years. I can say that this recipe is not thai food. Reasons:
1. we don't use butter
2. we rarely put salt and pepper in a curry. it's not like american dish.
3. we seldom put peas in a curry. actually i've never seen a curry having peas in it in Thailand.
I know that this recipe is good but it can be more traditional and real by just taking out some ingredients such as butter, pepper and salt.
I'm here not to claim anything but I just want to tell everyone how the real thai food looks like as I'm the one who loves cooking.

this dish is delicious. sounds like you just have something against rachael ray. other than that basil is widely used in many thai dishes. im sure there are MORE THAN 4 dishes out of 100 thai foods that use basil. my background is thai, so how about you get your facts straight before judging a great cook.

This is really good and it is so quick it was a 20 minute meal for me! I just cooked up some 10 minute rice (in lieu of couscous, and the actual shrimp dish only takes like 5 minutes to cook! This will be a new "go to" dish for me.

Excuse me Rachel, but I can only think of 3-4 dishes max out of 100 that we use basil. Please do your homework before you claim something like that on national television. Your dish looks nothing like Thai food besides using the curry paste and coconut milk. There are Thai people watching your show.
