It was delicious! I added fresh oregano & thyme, tricolor end cheese tortellinis, and lots of freshly picked watercress! I substituted turkey stock for the chicken stock, since I had none, and half & half for the cream, & a tablespoon of rendered pork belly fat with the oil. It was a complete Sunday night supper. Pesto rounded off the depth of flavor.

I loved this soup... a few comments thought:

    1. I think the vegetables are cooked too long. Next time I make it, I plan on cooking 1/2 the veggies as planned (for blending, then adding the rest at the end so they are crisp and fresh.

    2. I think that there is a bit too much broth for the amount of veggies. You could add more!

    3. The mint/basil pesto that accompanies this dish is excellent on its own... my boyfriend didn't like it so much in the soup, and while I enjoyed it, it wasn't 100% necessary to having a great soup.

    Make it - it's delicious!

Delicious, healthy and so easy to make. The pesto and the bunch of watercress at the end are essential to the flavor and appearance of the soup. It's also great cold! Next time I will puree the whole thing for a better texture. Really good soup!!!

I am watching Tyler make this recipe now. The viewer who only gave one star obviously paid close attention to the show since he picked up the missing watercress.

I will definitely be making this soon.

Once again FOOD TV website stinks. Recipe is great, unfortunately if you watch th show, it leaves out an imnportant detail. He purees a bunch of watercress with the vegetables to add into the soup. this adds wonderful flavor.

WOULD BE NICE IF THIS CRAP SITE COULD GET SOMETHING RIGHT FOR ONCE. THE RECIPES ON THE SITE NEVER "MATCH" THE ONES ON THE SHOW

I'm glad i caught this recipe. It's a fantastic blend, and like all are saying, the soup just isn't complete without the pesto. I made this tonight, shared it with my family, and it's spectacular. I have yet to do the Gnocchi half of this recipe, but I can't wait to try it. Excellent recipe; I'll keep this one on hand for sure. 5/5

First time using fresh marjoram and it was a hit. (That basil/mint pesto is what really makes this soup pop.

This was a fantastic recipe and a big hit with my family. Everyone raved about the soup. The pesto and gnocci was all delicious and the flavor was wonderful. I am making the pesto agin this weekend. It tastes even better the next day when the flavors all join together. Add the gnocci to the soup the next day for left overs with grated cheese and pesto, very good!
