This soup was super easy and quick plus tasty. I did decide to add two cloves of garlic, a little oregano, nutmeg, and substituted evoo instead of the butter and 1/2 & 1/2 for the cream, but used only 1/4 c and 1/4 c white wine. I used whole wheat bread for my croutons. After all the tweaking....it was a very good soup on this cool rainly day!

My daughter loves broccoli but will not eat soup so this was a great way to get her to try it! As others have said, this is a great starting point soup recipe and the variations could be endless. It's a great way to sneak in 'extra' veggies that the kids don't normally eat. This recipe was very easy, very economical, and delicious! I will definately be making this one time and time again.

This soup is great!! The only changes that I made was adding more broccoli, carrots, broth, and cream so that I would have plenty (an extra can of broth. I do not have an immersion blender so I used my smoothie maker. It worked perfectly. This is definetely a keeper. Thanks Pat and Gina!

This is the first time I have tried anything from the Food Network. When I watched the show it looked simple and very good. I read a few reviews and saw the additions other people made to theirs. I think the recipe is a good base and allows you to add what you want. I just made this and had to stop to come and write this review. I will say that I forgot to add the cream ( or milk like the other people here but it is still so good.

I did add the crushed garlic like many other people , and I added one small red potato....and I am in love with this soup. I seasoned a little while the veggies were cooking, but waited to add most of the seasoning at the end once everything was pureed.

I will be keeping this one and trying out many more from the show. Thank you Neelys!

I've been wanting to try this recipe for some time, and today I finally did!
I didn't have cream on hand, so I just opted for half a can of evaporated milk instead. It was great. I didn't have a hand blender, so I poured the soup into a normal blender, and it turned out great. It was smooth and creamy. Mine didn't turn out as green as the Neely's did, but it was probably because I had less broccoli in it. I dipped some toast in it, and it tasted great.

THe next time I make this, I might not blend it together, but instead, I'll add some noodles to it.

This is the first time I used one of your recipes and I was not disappointed.
The soup was delicious!!! It was better than what I have ordered at most restaurants. I am glad that I can serve up this dish at my own whim.

    Keep sharing...

I have never had broccoli soup. after watching the show I thought I would use the small bunch I had in fridge before it spoiled and boooyyy was it good. I even made the croutons without red pepper and they were good too. I ate two bowls. This is a keeper I will make sure to share it with my sister. : I am a Rachel Ray & Paula Deen fan I will have to make room for the Neelys.
