Easy to make, makes a large dish, reheats well. Tastes fantastic.

My entire family and I really liked this recipe! My only complaint is that 1 hour is WAY too long baking time for this dish. I baked it for 45 min. and it looked a little over cooked(accually it tasted really good like that. But I mention it because if I would have cooked it for an hour it would have been burnt to a crisp.

My family really liked this, but they all said it was too greasy. Also be sure to watch this dish, I only cooked it about 45 minutes and the cheese was getting to dark.
I used whole wheat penne instead of ziti. I would use two eggplants as one is not enough.

Great recipe. I love eggplant. I did not boil the pasta and put it in the middle of the dish and it turned out great! Just make sure it doesn't overwhelm the sauce. Mine was juicy enough. I am not a cream sauce fan, even though it was tasty. Next time I would place it in the middle of the dish or integrate it into the tomato sauce.

One eggplant was not enough to layer, and I could have used a deeper dish than 9x13. I only had a 14 oz can of diced tomatoes, but it was fine. Loved this.

Great flavor but watch the amount of olive oil you add. The sausage paired with the oil made it a little on the greasy side.

Worth the time and effort to make. Delicious. Didn't change a thing. This is definitely a family favorite.

allergy to dairy so ditched the milk portion of recipe and used soy flavoured cheese instead. Holy Crap it was good! The sausage I used was pretty oily and probably next time would not fry the egg plant slices.

This recipe is sooo good! I did make one small change, I cubed the eggplant. It was much easier to cook and made it more of a casserole.

My wife and I love this casserole. It is great, a veggie, starch, protien, and Cream Gravy (lol it's a southern thing.
What I really like about this dish is the components. It works great w/o eggplant. I have used the sausage sause as a base for other dishes as well.
Versitile, tasty, satisfying, and left overs freeze well, what more could you ask for in cooking.
