I made this for New Years brunch and while it came out looking just like Tyler's, the Granny Smiths made it too tart for the kids to enjoy. The caramel sauce didn't quite cut the bitterness of the apples. Otherwise the recipe was easy to prepare - I made mine in a cast iron dutch oven - and it cooked wonderfully. I did omit the cranberries because no one in my family really likes them. Next time, I will macerate the apples in sugar and some cinnamon and see if it sweetens them. I will definitely try this one again.

Very good ....keeping this recipe for any special occasion. Did not use the nuts or the cranberries and didn't miss them! Make sure the bread soaks long enough and do put a catch pan under the cast iron when baking to catch drips!

This was excellent! We left out the cream and used pineapple rings, instead. UN-BE-LIEVE-ABLE!!!

Excellent brunch dish. Even though I had to substitute a white bread it turned out so delicious. Got rave reviews and am looking forward to trying again with different fruits/nuts.

Great recipe! I made this for brunch today and it was a huge success. I live in central Texas and peaches are local, ripe and incredible. So instead of apples I used the peaches and left out the cranberries. It had a tartness matched with a sweet brown sugar syrup that hits every taste like a bomb. It's a crowd pleaser and super easy!!
