It was excellent! i really enjoyed this recipe and liked that when you took a bite you got a little surprise in the middle! The cream cheese filling was really good! And the espresso ganache was great. I could eat the ganache plain!

OK, first please know that I made a few adjustments to the recipe in order to use some left over ingredients. I had some left over tart cherries, so I used this recipe as an inspiration for a blackforest sort of dessert. I followed the chocolate recipe as is. Then, I subbed the chocolate chips/nuts for about 1/4 cup chopped cherries. Continued to follow the recipe and when the cupcakes came out of the oven, I soaked them in a cherry glaze I made with the juice and some amaretto. I didn't use the chocolate ganache, just a little whipped cream and candied cherry. My husband HATES cheesecake, but ate one, unaware of the filling. He loved the dessert, saying the cream cheese center really made the cupcake come together. I will absolutely make them again, probably continuing to tweak the recipe.

I usually don't bake from scratch but had to try this one. The only thing I changed from the presentation is I used a mini ice cream scoop to measure and deposit the cream cheese mixture in the center of the cup cake batter and they turned out great. The ganache frosting was a nice touch - my wife usually hates frosting but she loved these cupcakes with the ganache frosting.
