Made this for dinner the other night and it was a huge hit. Followed the recipe exactly. Never made homemade meatballs or Mariana sauce before. This will be my go to recipe.

I only made the meatball part of the recipe since I had a roasted red pepper and garlic store bought marinara on hand. I only used half the onion the recipe called for (since I don't love onion and there was still a considerable amount of onion in the meatballs. I can't imagine using the entire whole onion (which was relatively small! Generally speaking though the meatballs tasted (and smelled absolutely delicious.

These meatballs were fabulous! I made 25 meatballs with this recipe, and they were perfect for the rolls. Moist on the inside, and crusty on the outside...perfect! I'll use this one from now on for all of my meatballs. Yum!

I made this and it was amazing!!! I have never had meatball subs that tasted so good! I only did one thing different which is I doubled the recipe but i had 2 pounds beef sirloin and a pound of Italian sausage and it was amazing.

Yum! This was awesome. I liked the heat from the flaked red peppers, but if you are a mild-sort, would maybe want to add less of that. I was a little hesitant when I mixed the meatballs together and saw how much ingredient versus meat was in each meatball, but it was perfect with the sauce. I made this exactly as directed, and will be making this again. Thanks, Rachael! :

Great flavor!!! I made meatballs smaller than what called for due the size of sub rolls (6per section of 4. potato wedges need to be turned half way for even browning, put on bottom rack of oven while meatballs baked and kept in for another 5 to 10 min onced turned.
