This recipe was not only super quick and easy to make, but also got 4.5 stars from my picky eater husband! The meatballs were moist and delicious. The end result sub was loaded with gooey cheese and very tasty. I did use my own sauce (husband won't eat anything with tomato chunks in it and used plain white sub buns as I couldn't find the ones suggested, but we deemed this one a definite keeper! Plenty of sauce and meatballs left over for spaghetti the next night.

I thought the meatballs were easy to make, and yet so good!! The sauce was great too. I saved the leftovers and made spaghetti and meatballs the next night and it was even better the second night. Thanks Rachel

These were tasty but living in a small southern town i had to substitute ingredients.I used a chicago hard roll i found at Bi-Lo.I used a 6-cheese italian blend from a bag also bought at Bi-Lo.I put this cheese in the meatballs & on top.I think i'll keep the sauce recipe & try it on spaghetti.I had to cut meatballs in quarters & use less meat & sauce for my rolls but still it was a better sub than i could get at my local subway.

I didn't use her sauce (jar instead...but the meatballs were so yummy! Also, I toasted the sub rolls first which kept it from falling apart due to the sauce.

Made this one on a whim...oh my gosh, they were GREAT...my husband said to make sure I kept this one. He isn't always a fan of the Rach recipes I try. He isn't into new things: Making again right now.

Made this for a free cook with a few friends for a foods class, and it ended great. It wasn't very hard to prepare, and the ingredients were pretty easy to acquire.
Great flavor in the meatballs. I didn't make the sauce but the meatballs were amazing

My 13 year old daughter made this for the family. It was very good. Like has already been said, I guess my bread wasn't "crusty" enough because they got soggy on the bottom even after toasting.
I will find different rolls next time. I am using the Marinara sauce recipe this week for chicken parm! I won't buy sauce from a jar again when this is so easy and tasty.

My family and friends all love this recipe! I did however change it a little to make it my own.

I still use all of the same ingredients but instead of beef I use ground chicken and devide the mixture into 4 burger patties. Once they are cooked I cover them with some grated mozzerella cheese and cover to let it melt. I then toast onion burger buns, put some marinara sauce on both sides and then add the chicken patty. It's ooooooooooohhhh soooo good and a crowd pleaser everytime.
