Lovely cakey cookie - I did chopped chrystalized ginger & white chocolate chips instead of raisins - super. Put powdered sugar on top as they suggest.

I agree - a bit blah. They were even more blah because my twins really dislike raisins. I bet they would be better with the raisins because the way they are now, they aren't a winner...and me with all this homemade applesauce! I may try adding bits of persimmon next time.

I was out of baking soda, so I had to use 2tsp of baking powder (and I left out the salt. but to spice up the flavor, I replaced the ground ginger and allspice with apple pie seasoning and added a little extra cinnamon, some mace, and a cup of finely chopped apples. the cookies taste great, but the texture is more like a muffin than a cookie.

a easy cookie to make and the taste is like a spice cake. To add a little extra flavor i added a simple glaze frosting to them with a mix of flavors. the orange flavor was a nice touch.

These cookies are ok, but I would prefer a little more flavor. The applesauce flavor is very subtle, so this cookie tastes similar to any other basic spice cookie. I think that this could be a great cookie if the apple flavor were enhanced.
