Made this the first time and i agree with the salt being a little strong. But cut it in half and you really get an amazing meal.

Unfortunately, we printed this recipe in 2005 and just now got around to cooking it. Bad mistake on our part! Too salty and the rum/coke flavor was horrible.

Too salty. It was so bad, my husband and I had two bites and threw away the rest. First the salt hits you then the strong flavor of the rum. Maybe if you are dinking a few rum and coke, then eat this it may taste better. But seriously, don't waiste your money.

Holy cow is this a tasty marinade. It's way easy to mix up and the end result is heaven in your mouth.

We found this recipe to match other reviewers' findings:

1 too salty (made sure to use kosher as directed, even used a little less than the recipe...

2 too rummy (and i LIKE rum

3 and too hammy (maybe that's on purpose? it is called Rum and Cola CURED Tenderloin, but it's disconcerting

Maybe something didn't quite translate when the recipe went from restaurant kitchen to home cook version? Won't be making it again.

I made this for my husband and myself, and somehow it came out very salty. I couldn't finish my pork chop.

After marinading, the pork reminded us of ham. The taste of rum was present but was not overwhelming. I used dark rum (that is what I had and diet cola (again, what was on hand and added a little more sugar to compensate. It was raining so I roasted the tenderloin instead of grilling it. In spite of all the differences, the dish turned out great.
