O my! Pre-heated my gas grill to 350, & used a free-range chicken from Trader Joe's, rubbed it with olive oil & "Coffee Rub" spice, from Tommy's Special Blend Spices in Texas, with a German Oktoberfest beer. An hour and a half later, & SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!! I think it was illegally yummy & certainly to-die-for. I am now officially on the "you-owe-me-a-chick-flick" list!!

I was afraid I'd overcooked it a little because my weber went up to 450 for 10 mins or so before I noticed and damped it down. It came out great anyway, with moist and tender breastmeat.

Braised with a mixture of canola, butter, vinegar, and maple syrup. Rubbed with Costco's smokey mesquite rub (plus...some other spices. The sweet and tangy braise balanced nicely with the smokey rub. Rosemary and bay leaf in the beer can added a very mild herb flavor.

    Yum, yum, yum.

juicy, moist and fall off the bone. We used salt, pepper, garlic and paprika. We decided to use a white beer and it was amazing!!! half way through we took the can out and layed the chicken directly on the bbq and basted it with the leftover beer. YUM!!

Awesome. Juicy and flavorful. My only modification was that I took it off after one hour, and the chicken was definitely done. Any more and it would have been too dry. I'll probably cut it down to 55 minutes next time.

To put it simply...Ultimate satisfaction to be had by all!! I used a homemade rub from the Farmer's Market. I also added lemon, onions, rosemary, and some rub to the beer. I was very dissapointed to have to roast in the oven because our grill is too small. However, it turned out to be the BEST chicken I have ever eaten. My husband insists eating it for Thanksgiving!! Great left over as well! I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Can't wait to actually grill it!!! Thanks Bob Blumer for a great "first" Beer Can Chicken recipe experience!!!

i have made beer can chicken on the grill for years-always put garlic and dry rub into the can (which is only 1/2 full I use an insta read thermometer to test doneness. Always delish and easy as pie. Attention everyone-use a a meat thermometer to see if its done.

Cooked a 5lb bird @ 400* for 1.5 hours; still raw in the middle.

    Horrible.

The whole family agreed this is a something we'll def eat again!

I used McCormicks dry BBQ Grill Mates as the dry seasoning along w the salt and marinated for 24 hours. Even though I dont care for the dry rub at all straight from the container (I was just trying something new since they were on sale BOGO free. My chicken was prob 4.5 lbs. I cooked it on 350 degrees over indirect, per the recipe. Wings were a fraction dry but the rest of the chicken was perfect.
