We forgot to make the rest of the meal. We ate them as fast as they came out of the fryer.

    Thanks

These are really good, my toddler scarfed them down! The taste reminds me of potato chips, but I feel much better feeding my family this. You can easily alter the recipe by adding your own spices; I added creole seasoning for a little kick.

This is a really good base breading recipe for frying veggies. I would go a little lighter on the salt and depending on the consistency once you whisk, you may want to add a little more beer.

Invest in a deep fryer ? $30 should do it. It?s worth it ? it will save you tons in Peanut Oil cost because with a deep fryer, you don?t need the peanut oil for frying.

Because most veggies have a lot of moisture, serve right away!

Do not be afraid to try this fun and flavorful way of serving the usually boring green beans.(and who isn't sick of the green bean casserole They were easy to make with great top chef results. It's okay if they stick together. Don't drop one in at a time as shown in the show. Drop two servings into the basket which is already submerged in the peanut oil. I don't know if other oil can be used but I went out and bought the peanut oil which was pricey but the flavor was spectacular. I made 1lb in about 4 batches at about a minute a piece in oil preheated to 375 degrees.. The KEY to having great results is steaming them FIRST to tender crisp as another rater recommended. They will be tender on the inside but maintain their crisp appearance. I used Corona beer and this gave a nice flavor. I did reduce the pepper to 1/4 tsp because I was afraid they would be too peppery for my tastes. This one is definitely a keeper.

I really enjoyed making and eating these. I used fresh green beans but steamed them slightly and then dried them off before I battered them. I do recommend doing this if you want a crunchy outside and a little softer green bean on the inside. I did try one or two without steaming them beforehand did not enjoy them as much. I didn't have a problem with the batter. I also didn't use a fryer, but simply a Wok with about 1.5in worth of oil in it. Had no problems with them sticking or anything. Would definitely make this again =]

After watching the videos from the Neelys, I tried the fried green bean and they were as good and crunchy as they said! I know I will be serving these at our next family gatherings.

Thanks, Neely's for all your grand recipes, they are undoubtedly the BEST.
