Not as good as the original. Let's keep your original one, Kathleen, sorry. If you want to slim it, us granulated Splenda instead of sugar. Great""........

This recipe came out soggy and a little salty. The original version is much better. I bake a lot and I am sorry that I wasted some perfectly good fruit on this recipe when I could've just made the original instead. I tried to rescue what I can because I don't like to waste food but unless there was a major food shortage, I would call it inedible.
The only good thing I can say is that it smelled good baking and then going down my garbage disposal.

At first I thought I didn't like how the recipe turned out because it seemed a bit too soggy and mushy. It also didn't come out the way you would think a typical "pie" would. But, after I let it sit for a while and especially on the second day I started liking it more and more. The flavors do blend in together very nicely and I loved the taste of cranberies. I added walnuts, which was great and even my bf who hates walnuts ate the pie and asked for seconds! I'm definitely making this again and the best part is that it's the most simple pie you'll ever make!

I first made this recipe about 3 or 4 years ago and my family has been asking for it ever since. My niece likes it and she doesn't even like cranberries. I have made both the slimmed down and the regular versions and they both taste great. I have also made it with Splenda for a friend with diabetes; it had no noticable difference in taste. I do recommend that you use unmelted butter to grease the pan because whenever I melt the butter, as the recipe directs, the pie sticks to the pan. Enjoy !

The preparation states melting butter. however there is no butter in the ingredients. So how much butter?

My husband and neighbor LOVED this recipe. I liked it better on day 2 after the flavors had a chance to blend. First day served it with whipped cream; second day served it with French Vanilla ice cream. YUM!!!
