I only made the meatballs and used sauce from a jar. I followed the recipe exactly with the exception that I finished the meatballs in the oven and not directly in the sauce. They turned out amazing- not dry at all and seasoned perfectly. Prep takes a little time but still fast enough for a weeknight meal

Was seeking an easy-peasy recipe for turkey meatballs that required in-my-cabinet ingredients. This one is a winner! I substituted wheat bread for white bread (that's what I had in my cabinet and didnt use the sauce in the recipe but instead, I doctored up a jar of sauce with a little sugar, italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes. I let the meatballs simmer in the sauce for half an hour. They were soooo moist and delicious. A definite keeper!

This recipe was amazing! My fiance loves spice and he could not get enough of this. I used 1/2 ground turkey and 1/2 spicy sausage for the meat balls. I also just put them under the broiler for a few minutes then finished cooking them in the sauce. For the sauce i used a can of plain tomato sauce, a can of diced tomatoes and 2 Tbsp of tomato paste, and all the seasoning in the recipe. It was GREAT! So easy and so delicious! A keeper for sure!

I made these meatballs for my lunch group at work. Many of the ladies don't eat red meat. It was a big hit. It has become my most frequently asked for recipe.

Meatballs were really good! Sauce was too thin. The jarred stuff is better. I ended up baking the meatballs, because the recipe took too long.

The sauce is a winner! Nice consistency with a kick, I'll certainly make again. Since there were no directions for making the sauce, I sauteed the garlic and olive oil, added the crushed red pepper and then the pureed tomatoes. I had some roasted red peppers, so I pureed them, and added them in the sauce too. I did not make the turkey meatballs using this recipe, since I couldn't find italian sausage at the grocery store. I used another recipe that was very flavorful, and added them after baking the meatballs until they were almost done. There was just enough heat that it didn't set my mouth on fire, but was enjoyable.
