Very very good recipe. We did not have red pepper flakes so we used a few dashes of chili powder. The bacon makes it very salty so they extra salt is not really needed. I think that we may reduce the amount of bacon next time to cut the fat.

anne burrell is an amazin chef and in this recipe she remains true to form - word of caution, add the stock sparingly otherwise you'll loose the delicious crispness of the bacon and wind up with a soggy mess ...

Chard is hands down my favorite leafy green to cook and I use it often. Thiis was a great recipe to try and the flavors of the bacon and garlic together with the chard were delicious. But I could tell from the "get go" that there was going to be too much fat in the dish for my husband's and my palates so we drained off some of the bacon fat before adding in the chard stems. The outcome was very good and we think leaving all the fat in the dish would have taken away from the flavor of the chard. We also found that we only needed about half as much chicken broth as the recipe specified.

I made the chard recipe last night and it was delicious! I substituted rainbow chard for the swiss and used two bunches for leftovers. Served it pan sauteed chicken and a whole sweet potato. Great combination, will definitely make this again and again!

these were the best pork chops we've every made. They were really juicy and had great flavor from the brine. Highly recommend this recipe.

Even my son who does not care for swiss chard enjoyed this with the chops and the polenta.
