We loved this easy and flavorful dish. Just enough sweet. The toasted pecans had the perfect punch of flavor. You don't really taste the pepper but it would be missed if it were not there. Totally recommend this one

This was one of the most disappointing recipes I have tried. I made it for Thanksgiving dinner and it was bland and unflavorful. Lots of work chopping the sweet potatoes for unremarkable results. I will not be making this again.

I am surprised how few people have reviewed this recipe. I was hesitant to try it because I was worried that the pepper flavors would clash with the sweetness of the potatoes and maple syrup, but I was glad I did! Usually I make candied yams for my family's Thanksgiving dinner, but I wanted to try something new this year. Everyone agreed this was much better than my usual recipe! Sweet potatoes have so much flavor on their own that they don't need much else; the cayenne pepper, pecans, and maple syrup complement them without overpowering them. This is a really great recipe that's easy to make!

My Mom always wowed us with a candied sweet potato recipe with a crunchy topping. I tried this recipe (and the pork tenderloin from the same episode...amazing! one night for my fiance and I. It was an excellent recipe. It is easy to prepare, the sweet potatoes offer an excellent texture because of the way they are roasted in the oven, and the cayenne in the maple butter mixture adds a suprising bit of heat, but not too much. The pecans are a perfect topping, without adding the extra calories and sugar of a traditional topping. TRY IT! You'll love it!
