To be quite honest i made these biscuits and bobby flays sawmill gravy for dinner tonight and the biscuits were horrible. Canned ones taste better than this recipe.

I'm located 5 hours south of Atlanta Georgia. Its White Lily flour. I found the biscuits to be too moist and crumble, not holding together too good. I prefer just the old timey Buttermilk, flour and a smidget of sugar. I do like your idea about using an ice cream scoop.

I was so excited to make these biscuits after reading the reviews....but these aren't killer! They are very bland and taste like something is missing. I followed the recipe perfectly. Keep on looking for another buttermilk biscuit to make!

I loved these biscuits, I omitted the sugar and increased the salt to 1 tsp, I will next time use half the flour that is used for rolling the biscuits in, all you need is half a cup. I also sifted my dry ingredients together, also instead of using a mixer, I just used a fork to combine the shortening. I will make these alot.

I just made these yesterday and they were great-tasty, great texture-everything. Everyone loved them and attacked them when I got them from the oven at my brunch. I will say they created a sticky mess and maybe it is bc it is my first time making them and I changed cream to 2% milk, but have plenty of flour on hand. Stick with it even if it is getting messy- it is worth it.

I have been fooled before with other 5 star reviews, but this is for real! These are the best biscuits ever. These will become a staple at our house.

My only complaint is the difficulty dealing with the flour. Beside that, these are great with breakfast or dinner. I'll definitely make them again next time I make brunch.

These biscuits were delicious but not the best I've ever tried. A little complicated to make but they taste really good. Light and fluffy too.
