I just finished making this cake and from the preliminary tasting, before it has been frozen, this is a very beautiful, but exceptionally bland dessert. The recipe calls for a negligible amount of spices, none of which manage to cut through to flavor the mounds of whipped cream. IF anyone should make this, I would suggest a minimum of 3 teaspooons cinnamon, 2 teaspoons ginger and 1 teaspoon nutmeg. Then it may taste of something other than whipped cream (the pumpkin adds very little flavor as well.
