I am not a big fan of sweet potatoes(unless it's in a pie crust but this was wonderful! I didn't have any bourbon on hand so I substituted it with rum. Will definitely make again.

the sweet potatoes were way too sweet with all the brown sugar and other ingredients. I would definately cut back on all of the sweeteners

These are the best sweets I've had in ages. Since Thanksgiving, I've already made them an additional time. Can't get enough of them. Such an easy recipe. Also, for Diabetics, these are a great change from the typical Sweet Potatoes and Marshmallows. Marshmallows are a problem for diabetics, so with this recipe you use Splenda brown sugar. For the 3 cups of brown sugar recommended in this recipe, you only use 2/3 cup of Splenda Brown Sugar. It doesn't alter the taste and makes it possible for everyone to enjoy. I highly recommend this recipe. Thanks Rhoda. You've got a hit here. Bam Bam Bam.

This thanksgiving was my first time making candided yams and this recipe was fantastic. The aroma was intoxicating and the flavor even better. Just the right amount of sweetness made these an excellent compliment to my thanksgiving meal.

We have made this since 2003 and will continue to do so for every TG we have. Our family loves it. We are asked for the recipe every time we serve it.

This recipe is great! We had to use rum instead of brandy, because it's what we had available, but it was still fabulous. It's just a little bit different than traditional candied sweet potatoes. Sooooo good!

I baked the sweet potatoes and pealed them. Mashed them and then added all the other ingredients. It turned out great.
