This is a fantastic recipe. I thought I made great sweet potatoes but this one is fantastic. I have shared it with my mother who also thinks she makes the best sweet potatoes in the world.

I did not have bourbon so I used Captains Spice Rum.

I've been making these potatoes on occasion for the past two years and they've been great each time!...even without the bourbon and vanilla beans.

This recipe was wonderful. I made half for my party of 5 and we had leftovers. I also made it up to the final bake the day before and let it bake and added marshmallows (a must around here and then the butter as the turkey was resting. It had more juice than it might have had I done it straight through, but it was absolutely delicious, there was a good texture to the potatoes, and it was a huge hit with my guests. This one will be added as a staple.

These were wonderful and easy to prepare. Even my husband, who doesn't care for sweet potatoes, loved these. I wasn't sure about using the bourbon, but it really did kick them up a notch!
