My husband couldn't believe I made this so quickly. It was very tasty. I did add more jalapeno and a smoked ancho chili that I chopped up for a more smokey flavor. Also used kidney beans, rinsed first and more chili powder, probably another tablespoon. Used lots of fresh ground pepper and instead of canned diced tomatoes I chopped up fresh. Cooked it longer on low to meld the flavors but it was taste when first done, so if you don't have the time, you will still love it! Served it over brown rice instead of the corn cakes and made corn muffins instead. Top it with some fresh chopped green onions and cheddar cheese. Ok, so I made a few changes, but it was very good....

This was good but nothing to get excited about. It seems to be missing something and I can't tell what that "something" is. It's okay for a quick pot of chili but when I have extra time available, I would choose another one over this.

I love this recipe and use it for a base for my chili! One of the few my guy requests, typically he's like whatever u feel like making. I like to clean it up a bit by using 1/2 the amount of lean turkey and nixing the oil. I also double, sometimes triple the amount black beans, more cumin, chili powder, and Worcestershire. Then brown rice instead of the corn cakes! Leftovers are the best

Great easy recipe. We also added a bay leaf, ancho chili powder, and hot sauce and served it with a dollop of sour cream.

My Favorite "Go-To" Chili ! Always a huge hit! Also, Corn bread instead of Corn Cakes.

I skipped the corn cakes and substituted half a can of rotel hot and a can of rotel mild. Perfect heat and taste.

I made this recipe because I had just about everything in my pantry and refused to go to the store . . . turned out to be the Best Chili (even my husband loved it! I used a pound of turkey and a pound of beef, chicken stock instead of beef and a green bell pepper instead of red, added a little bit of lime juice and lots of cilantro. Next time I think I will add tomato paste instead of the sauce. So good, so quick, and the corn cakes are great too!
