I got 2nd place in a chili contest with this recipe. I also added some tomato paste and it was delicious and very popular.

I won first prize out of 15 entries with this recipe. I did add 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes and a 14 1/2 oz diced tomatoes instead of what was listed on the recipe. I also added a little liquid hot sauce to spice it up.

Very fun and easy to make. The corn cakes were a hit!

The chili was great. I made it with ground chicken and let it simmer for over one hour, which really benefited the flavors. I also added tomato paste for richer flavor and to help thicken the chili. The corn cakes were AMAZING -- such little effort for something so yummy!

This chili is satisfying when you're cooking in a rush.

Loved the recipe! I served it in small pot pie like ceramic dishes with the corn cakes on the top, just like Rachael recommended. It looked really special. I loved how easy it was to make the corn cakes rather than cornbread or corn muffins. I did use ground turkey instead of beef.

I needed a simple chili recipe to make to help fight the nip in the air ; I added a can of corn (and didn't make the corncakes on top and a half a can of tomato paste to help thicken it a little. Topped it with some shredded cheddar and DUG IN! It made enough to be able to freeze a good portion for later in the week, too!
What's really great about it is that it stands up just fine on it's own, but you could really customize it and play with it, too. Simply Delish! Thank you Rachael!!!!

Made the chili just as written and it went over *big*! For the corn cakes, I used the recipe on the Jiffy brand box for waffles and served the chili over corn waffles. A terrific, fun presentation! (The initial waffle stuck and came out all broken, so I bagged that up and saved it for corn muffin croutons; really good, too!

So I haven't even finished cooking it yet and it is still 5 stars. I did add a little tomato paste to thicken it up, used a little less jalapeno. I will let it simmer for a while before i make the corn cakes but I could eat the whole thing right now. This recipe did not look so good on TV but at home it is beautiful. I love the idea of the corn cake on top. Oh, and I'll serve it with shredded cheese...I do live in Wisconsin, don'cha know.

I have made this recipe twice in a month and me and my bf LOVE it! He didnt want to try it bc of the black beans but ended up loving it, said it was the best chili that he ever tasted!!! The last time I made it I put half the meat and an extra 1/2 can of beans, 1/2 can of diced tomatoes, and served it over brown rice to make it a little healthier! I found it to be more filling like this as well! Enjoy!

This is the easiest, tastiest, quickest chili I've ever made!!! I followed exactly as written, but added a can of corn, and topped it with sour cream and shredded cheese. You might as well go ahead and double the batch as I did. You WON'T be sorry!!!!
