The recipe was good but it was a little bland for me. I did add sugar to it right before I paced it in the batter and it tasted better.

This was a delicious recipe! The batter, when browned, reminded me of my Grandmothers' flapjacks she used to cook on the farm!
After cooking one Granny Smith apple, I found I had alot left over since there were
just the 2 of us, so I put them in a ziploc bag, brought them out at breakfast, and but just a liiiiiltle 'buttah' in my pan and place the friitters in for a few seconds. Then I turned them over and place a sprinkling of brown sugar on them and browned to a 'crisp'. It only takes a minute; then turned them over and did the other side.
These were a delicious little breakfast 'dessert'! My husband recently quit smoking and has had a giant sweet tooth ever since!
Thank you for a wonderful reminder of my childhood at Grandma's farm!!

Talk about a blast from the past! My mom made these all the time when I was little, and I have tried to make them as an adult, with no success. My mom stopped cooking after divorcing my Dad, and of course the recipe was lost. Thank you Paula! These were exactly like my mama made when I was little. Now I can pass this on to my daughter. They were sooooo yummy!! Not to sweet, and the powdered sugar is the perfect finish. Bravo!

How wonderful the memories were when I cooked this recipe. Being in grandma's kitchen was a love of mine. She taught me alot but I have yet to master her apple fritters. This is very close. Not too sweet, as fritters are not suppose to be, and just enough kick with the cinnamon. The only extra I like to add is a pinch of ground ginger.
Thank you Paula for a wonderful day filled with memories of Grandmothers,
Deb

I just made a batch of these after watching Paula this morning. This makes a bunch. I sent to plates to the neighbors to enjoy. They are the best with powdered sugar and syrup. Yum. I added a tsp of vanilla to the batter too. My husband and seven year old loved them too.

for those of you who said Paula's apple fritters are not sweet enough, you don't know what a fritter should taste like! they SHOULD NOT be sweet! The original Pa. Dutch recipes don't even call for sugar!

This is so easy and they are very good. I used golden delicious apples. I dusted them with powdered sugar and I thought they were wonderful!

These are awesome! The batter is not too sweet and adding the powdered sugar at the end makes it extra delicious. My mom made these and didn't use all the batter. She refrigerated it and the next day we cut up some more apples and had some more. It was great! Thanks Paula.

This is my first to try one of Paula's recipes and i read the reviews before trying. I added a half a cup of sugar instead of the 2 spoons it called for. Im glad i did as the half a cup just barely sweetened it enough. I also took a lil help from the store and bought sliced apples with the skin on and cooked them that way. You barely notice the skins and it gives it a nice texture. I will definitely be making these again!
