Prepared this for Christmas Eve dessert, and it was delicious.
My husband and I practiced lighting sugar cubes earlier in the day, but when it came time to light the cubes within the strawberry before serving, they just wouldn't light! I used a higher proof liquor so I wonder what the trick is. But dessert was very very good, and everyone loved it.

I love making this recipe! I've tried it with a few different alcohols and it will only successfully flambe if use an 80 proof or higher liquor. True story.
Other than that, I like to show off with it because the near ceiling high flames make for good entertainment. Supremely tasty on all levels.

Fire is always good. If you dont like the taste of the alcohol, dontr do the sugar in the strawberry trick at the end as this left a strong taste of brandy. Other than that I have made this a few times now. Also u can use splenda brown sugar to make it a little less sinful!
