I have to agree with Melissa, the bread got soggy and then developed a tough, chewy texture. The flavor was good, but I won't make these again.

This is yet another recipe that is a total keeper from Paula. Made it last night for friends and they all raved about them. Easy and delicious is a perfect combination. Thanks Paula!

My husband started making these a few years ago as an appetizer on Thanksgiving. We could barely get them out of the oven before they were gone ! Everyone raved about them and I can't begin to remember how many times I've given this recipe. This is now a Thanksgiving "staple" at our house and so very easy to make !!!!!

These have quickly become a family favorite. Along with the bread sticks I serve them with a Honey Mustard dipping sauce- same recipe as Paula's except I use honey mustard.

I just took these out of the oven about 10-15 minutes ago. I let them cool before I tasted them. The flavor is awesome, but the breadsticks got soggy. I cooked mine on a stone pan because usually when I use those pans, everything comes out crispy. I even used reduced fat bacon and it was still too much grease. Maybe after they sit here longer they will get harder? I don't know. I am supposed to serve these tomorrow at a bridal shower. The verdict is still out.

A little time consuming but worth it. I didn't have any problems with too much bacon grease like others had stated. They were gone in no time at all. Family loved them.

It was almost impossible to get this to execute successfully. It was sort of tasty, but getting the bacon to cook without burning the breadsticks didn't work. I'd advise against this recipe

Okay, 3 years ago, I was watching the amazing Paula Dean, and saw this very cool southern looking recipe. So of course, Thanksgiving rolled around the corner, and I took a shot, and tried it! The second I popped 'em out of the oven my within 10 minutes all 24 breadsticks were gone! I did modify it a bit. I didn't do a mixture, I just sprinkled a little parmesan cheese on top! It was delicous!
