Four stars because it needs the addition of balsamic vinegar to be complete....old recipe but for young cooks it may be new....

This recipe is exactly why I love Ina! Simple and flavorful is her style.
I love this salad, though I kick it up a little by making the dressing as follows: 1/3 Vinegar (Raspberry flavored white balsamic is the best, 2/3 good olive oil, salt and pepper to taste, and fresh herbs from the garden. I like thyme, oregano and other Italian flavors fresh, chopped and added to the dressing. My daughter likes it when I add a garlic clove to the dressing. Let stand overnight, or not, and add it when you are ready to eat the salad. Enjoy!

I find some of the reviews about this recipe to be ridiculous. Yes, This recipe has been around for years. However,There are a lot of new cooks out there looking for recipes that they may have never used or seen. And for the professional cooks to give all the background and orgin on a recipe is ridiculous. Its just a recipe. Seriously!!

I have to agree with Bella Vita. This is nothing of a new salad, similar to a Caprese salad that has been around for decades. It needs a splash of balsamic though to make it great.

Although there is nothing new about this salad (it's been around for years, it is very good. I would just like for the pro chefs to give credit where due in the recipes that they post or prepare on their tv shows . . . or just state that you got it somewhere else and not something of your own creation.

Appreciate that very much! Thank you.
