Very good, the best I have had! I too, used bisquick and added an additional one teaspoon of fresh chopped thyme to the batter. I at first was concerned that it would be too runny but it thickened up perfectly. Delisious!

This recipe is the BOMB diggitity dong...All 3 of my kids, and husband LOVE it. Will make it for years to come. One thing I like to do to make it so much faster and easier is buy a rotisserie chicken and shred it and throw it. Plus it falls apart and spreads the chicken throughout instead and cubed pieces. Just me being lazy though ; Happy Cooking!

Yummy comfort food! I was looking for a quick comfortfood meal a couple of weeks ago & this recipe seemed to fit the bill. I have a mandolyn (sp? slicer that made quick work of the veggies. I used frozen chicken breasts, diced and just used Bisquick to make the dumplings. The kids & husband completely finished the entire pot! They have been asking for it continuously now. . . It is DEFINITELY a keeper!

Normally not a "dumplings" guy, but my wife made this and it was Very Good. Will definitely have again.

Used the dumpling recipe because I was out of Bisquick. I was so skeptical but it came out good. Not doughy like I prefer but good enough. Would make again, only if I am in another pinch.

Easy and delicious....doubled the recipe and let it cook for an extra 30 minutes. It was nice and thick, added extra chicken broth for extra gravy. Chive dumplings rock!!!

Make sure that you love the poultry seasoning that you use for this recipe, the one I used just had too much sage for my taste. If I make this recipe again I will definitly make it for a crowd because the steamed dumplings just don't reheat well enough for left overs. But other wise I am sure it would be great for a football gathering on a Sunday afternoon with some friends or family and the right poultry seasoning.

Very good! I left out the onion, didn't have any around, and added mushrooms. For the dumplings, I used a homemade dumpling recipe with just under a tsp. of rosemary. I didn't have "poultry seasoning" so I added some sage, parsely and thyme. I also added a little allspice, tiny bit of cayenne, and paprika according to a previous reviewer. The potatoes weren't quite done during the recommended time though, but that was easy to fix, just cook 'um longer!
